This page outlines how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use our website, our Fellini Circle app, or otherwise interact with our services. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and the security of your information, and we handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

At Fellini the Italian Restaurant, we may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Making and confirming reservations

  • Sending promotional offers and updates, only if you've signed up to our newsletter or otherwise agreed to hear from us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails, or by contacting us.

  • Responding to inquiries and feedback

  • Improving our services and website

We don't use information from The Fellini Circle app for marketing.

Our Approach Under the Australian Privacy Principles

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for what we do, and we collect it directly from you wherever we can. We use it for the purpose you gave it to us for, or for a related purpose you would reasonably expect. We only use it for other purposes with your consent or where the law allows.

Some information, such as dietary needs and allergies, can be health information. We only collect it with your consent, when you choose to share it with us, and we only use it to look after you.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share your information with service providers that help us run our business, such as our reservations provider, payment processors, our website platform, and email services. These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

The Fellini Circle app

The Fellini Circle is our free members’ app. Anyone aged 18 or over can join. This section explains what the app collects, why, and where it goes. It sits alongside the rest of this policy, and we handle everything in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Your email address, so you can sign in. We email you a one-time code each time; there are no passwords for members.

  • Your name, if you add it (you can change the name we greet you by at any time), and your member number, which is created when you join.

  • Your preferences, if you choose to add them: dietary needs and allergies, favourite dishes, drinks, seating, and any notes for the team. Dietary and allergy details can be health information, so we only use them to look after you at the table and treat them as sensitive.

  • Celebrations you add, such as a birthday or anniversary (the day and month only, with a name for the occasion).

  • Your replies to Circle invitations, including how many guests are coming.

If you use the app without signing in, your preferences stay on your phone and aren't sent to us.

What we don't do

There's no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no analytics or crash-reporting tools in the app. We never sell or rent your information, and we don't use your Circle app information for marketing.

Who sees it and where it's kept

Your details are seen only by the Fellini team members who look after the Circle, so we can prepare for your visit. We use two service providers:

  • Supabase stores your Circle profile and handles sign-in, on servers in Sydney. It also keeps basic technical sign-in records (such as IP address and device type) for security.

  • Resend sends our sign-in emails. To deliver them, your email address may be processed on its servers overseas, including in the United States.

Bookings and prepayments made through the Book tab are handled by SevenRooms, our reservations provider, under their own privacy policy. Anything you enter there goes to SevenRooms, not to the Circle app.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your Circle information while you're a member. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile > Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your membership, preferences, celebrations, invitation replies and sign-in, and clears them from your phone. It doesn't cancel or remove bookings made with SevenRooms, so please contact us about those. If you'd rather, email us and we'll delete your account for you.

Your choices

You can see and update most of your details in the app. To ask for a copy of what we hold, to correct something, or to raise a concern, email info@fellinirestaurant.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Age

The Fellini Circle is for adults aged 18 and over.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccuracies in your information.

  • Request the deletion of your information.

  • Object to how we handle your information.

  • Withdraw your consent, including unsubscribing from our newsletter at any time.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it work and to understand how it is used:

  • Our website is hosted by Squarespace, which sets cookies needed for the site to function.

  • We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use our website.

  • We use Google Ads tags to measure and improve our advertising.

  • Our forms may use Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam.

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings. The Fellini Circle app doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising tracking.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the date it was last updated.
